Football Recap: Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They took a blow against the East Laurens Falcons on Friday, falling 58-0. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

WyQuayvis Gaither threw for 42 yards on three of eight attempts. Xzavier Foster was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

A big part of East Laurens' victory came down to the chemistry between Sky Snead and his top target Major Floyd. Snead threw for 94 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes while Floyd gained 57 total yards and three touchdowns.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for East Laurens, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

After each having a week off, Central and Southwest will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. The Chargers will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for East Laurens, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 37-13 defeat against Dublin on the 12th.
