Soccer Recap: Denison Takes a Loss

Denison might've scored the first goal on Tuesday, but it was Anna who claimed the real prize. The Denison Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Anna Coyotes by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Yellow Jackets have lost by just one goal.

Denison has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season. As for Anna, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5-1 and their overall record up to 4-7-1.

Denison and Anna could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Denison (ranked 637th) will meet Walnut Grove (ranked fifth) at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. Similarly, Anna will face off against Lovejoy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 410 places (483 vs. 73).
