Football Game Preview: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Durant Cougars + How To Watch

Tampa Bay Tech has gone a perfect 6-0 against Durant recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Titans will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

On Friday, Tampa Bay Tech made easy work of East Bay and carried off a 32-9 victory. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won eight in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Bay Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevon Moore, who picked up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown. Isaiah Daniel also helped with two TDs in total.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Daniel, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

Meanwhile, Durant got the win against Bloomingdale on Friday by a conclusive 28-6.

A big part of Durant's victory came down to the chemistry between Sam Themar and his top target Ryan Porter. Themar rushed for 78 yards on only seven carries while Porter picked up 78 receiving yards and one score. Themar's passing game has become a key predictor of Durant's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Tampa Bay Tech's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Durant, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Tampa Bay Tech against Durant when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-3 win. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
