Football Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Vikings vs. Northridge Knights + Official Tickets

The Pleasant Grove Vikings will take on the Northridge Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pleasant Grove's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Payson 48-0. The contest marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season.

Pleasant Grove relied on the efforts of Connor Ybarra, who rushed for 79 yards and two TDs, and Tavake Wolfgramm, who gained 132 total yards and a touchdown. Those 79 rushing yards gave Ybarra a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pleasant Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Payson only rushed for 58.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Pleasant Grove, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dexton Nuttall, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Northridge beat Clearfield 24-20 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Pleasant Grove better keep an eye on Grant Slater. He was instrumental in Northridge's win, throwing for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes.

Pleasant Grove's record now sits at 4-6. As for Northridge, their record is now 4-5.
