Softball Game Preview: Wood Memorial Trojans vs. Tell City Marksmen

The Wood Memorial Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Tell City Marksmen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Wood Memorial nor Tell City posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Wood Memorial and Heritage Hills, and Heritage Hills kept the tradition alive. The Trojans fell 3-0 to the Patriots on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Tell City fell victim to Perry Central and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Commodores, falling 7-0. The Marksmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tell City now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wood Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Wood Memorial suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Tell City in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
