Volleyball Recap: Sam Rayburn Comes Up Short

Sam Rayburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Detroit Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

While Sam Rayburn was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Detroit's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-16.

Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Detroit, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sam Rayburn will venture away from home to square off against Savoy at 5:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Detroit, they will face off against North Hopkins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
