After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tahoma, Skyview was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Battle Ground Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Storm have won nine contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Battle Ground's batters probably weren't too happy with Malea Figueroa, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up a single walk). Figueroa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sadie Vigil was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Dylan Yates was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Skyview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 13 consecutive games.
Skyview's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Battle Ground, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Coming up, Skyview will head out on the road to challenge Ridgefield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Storm 2.8, the Spudders 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Battle Ground does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
