Piketon has gone a perfect 3-0 against Oak Hill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Oak Hill took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Piketon, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Piketon turned things around against Paint Valley on Thursday. They blew past the Bearcats 3-0.
Piketon walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Oak Hill lost 3-0 to Western on Thursday. The Oaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Oak Hill took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21, 25-23.
Piketon will have to contain Bailee Larhmer as she made an impact in Oak Hill's last game. She had 19 digs and two aces.
Oak Hill's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Piketon, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's matchup: Piketon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Piketon beat Oak Hill 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Will the Redstreaks repeat their success, or do the Oaks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
