Volleyball Game Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish

Center Grove hasn't had much luck against Cathedral recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 12:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Center Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Covenant Christian. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Center Grove found their leader in freshman Xavi Pineda, who had 22 digs and one assist. Ramon Garrido also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Cathedral had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Center Grove's win bumped their record up to 24-8-1. As for Cathedral, their victory bumped their record up to 28-5.

Center Grove couldn't quite get it done against Cathedral in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 2-0. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
