Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Lamar's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Lamar won the last time they faced Cesar E. Chavez, and Phoenix Sneed did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lamar Texans breezed by the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos to the tune of 71-10 on Thursday thanks in part to Sneed, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Madison Williams was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-27 victory against Heights on the 25th. Cesar E. Chavez has also already played their next match (against Bellaire), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
