The Chapin Eagles will take on the Newberry Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Newberry likes a good challenge.

The team also got some help courtesy of John Rossi, who rushed for 117 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

Chapin's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Jaylynn Calvin was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Newberry after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Clinton who ended up claiming the real prize. Newberry took a 23-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clinton. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Chapin's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Newberry, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
