Recap: Central Falcons vs. Marion Rams
The Central Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Marion on Friday as Central made off with a 49-25 victory. The win was just what Central needed coming off of a 58-31 defeat in their prior game.
Aaliyah Golston continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The game was her 14th in a row with at least ten points. Airre'Ale Norfleet was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Central's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Marion, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Northridge is ranked 80th, while Central is ranked 103rd). As for Marion, they will head out on the road to face off against Greensboro at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greensboro comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
