Basketball Recap: Chesnee Eagles vs. Greer Middle College Blazers
The Chesnee Eagles lost against the Greer Middle College Blazers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Chesnee ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-46 walloping at the hands of the Blazers. Chesnee has not had much luck with the Blazers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Chesnee saw an underclassman step up: Elijah Brown scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Poole, who scored ten points.
Chesnee's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12. As for Greer Middle College, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesnee will take on the Red Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Greer Middle College, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blacksburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully the Blazers like a good challenge.
