Softball Recap: Cumberland County Jets vs. White County Warriors

Cumberland County extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-13 in the process. They lost 16-0 to the White County Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Cumberland County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for White County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 18-0).

On White County's side, they got a great performance from Mabry Taylor as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Taylor a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna McCulley, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Maddie Rust, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI.

Cumberland County has already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Upperman on the 17th. As for White County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against DeKalb County on the 17th.
