Football Game Preview: Newsome Wolves vs. Middleton Tigers + How To Watch

The Newsome Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Middleton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newsome will be strutting in after a victory while Middleton will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Newsome turned things around against Alonso on Friday. They blew past the Ravens 35-14. The Wolves not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 18, 2024 (when they won 38-0).

Meanwhile, Middleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-7 loss at the hands of Jesuit. While losing is never fun, Middleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Jesuit is ranked 20th).

Newsome's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Middleton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Newsome against Middleton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 38-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
