After a string of six wins, Bowdon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Heard County Braves, falling 27-7. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Braves are ranked 31st).

Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amari King and Meg Robinson.

Bowdon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Heard County, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Coming up, Bowdon will host Rockmart at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heard County, they have already played their next game, a 51-6 victory against Troup County on the 10th.
