Volleyball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Wonderful College Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the South Spartans, falling 3-0. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-13.

Merari Silva paced Wonderful College Prep Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Silva got some help from Estefanny Martinez and her seven assists. Brigette Leon controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for South, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wonderful College Prep Academy will face off against Mira Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South, they will take on Shafter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
