Baseball Recap: Barbers Hill Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Barbers Hill walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Angleton Wildcats on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Jorge Garza looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Barbers Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roque Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Barbers Hill's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Angleton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15-1.

Barbers Hill will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
