McDonald had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the McKinley Trojans 70-27. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-19.

Drew Zajack had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Joey Cappuzzello, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 14 points.

McDonald was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinley only posted five.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

McDonald wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-43 victory against Western Reserve on the 9th. As for McKinley, they have also already played their next game, a 68-7 defeat against Springfield on the 9th.
