Softball Recap: West Port Wins Going Away Against First Academy

West Port won the last time they faced First Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The West Port Wolf Pack blew past the First Academy Eagles 12-2. Considering the Wolf Pack have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Reese Leslie was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Schoepke, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Port was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for West Port and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for First Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, West Port will challenge Chiles at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Chiles is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 16 runs per game this season. As for First Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 19-10 win against Legacy Charter on the 6th.
