Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Dragons vs. Vanden Vikings

The Sacramento Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Vanden Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sacramento sitting on seven straight victories and Vanden on three.

Last Friday, Sacramento got the win against River City by a conclusive 75-53. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Raiders are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vanden played against Wood and won via forfeit.

Vanden's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.1 points. As for Sacramento, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Sacramento and Vanden were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Sacramento came up empty-handed after a 59-58 defeat. Can Sacramento avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
