Recap: Mercer County Titans vs. Mercy Jaguars
The Mercer County Titans gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Mercy by a score of 46-37. This was payback for Mercer County, who suffered a 57-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Mercer County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Drakeford led the charge by scoring 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Sara Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Mercer County's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mercy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercer County will take on Taylor County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
