Softball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

Morgan Township was the 8-5 winner over Westville when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cherokees fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Morgan Township has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Westville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Morgan Township will square off against Portage at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.11 runs per game on average), something the Cherokees will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westville, they will challenge Calumet New Tech at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
