            Softball Recap: East Ascension Spartans vs. Live Oak Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            East Ascension managed to slip by Live Oak the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. East Ascension lost  13-4 to Live Oak on Friday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won  12-10.
 Mya Lanoux was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-4 with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cayden Tullier, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, East Ascension  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  struck out at most five  strikeouts in five consecutive  contests.
East Ascension's loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 14-9. As for Live Oak, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Ascension will square off against Prairieville at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Prairieville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5  runs per game on average), something East Ascension will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Live Oak, they will challenge Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 5:00  p.m.  on Sunday.
