Baseball Recap: Hughesville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Tunkhannock

There's no place like home for Hughesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Tunkhannock Tigers on Saturday.

Hughesville got a great performance from Nathan Bieber as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wynter Fogelmen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jedidiah Abernatha was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hughesville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Tunkhannock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Looking ahead, Hughesville will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tunkhannock, they will head out on the road to take on Hanover Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Hawkeyes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.12 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
