Softball Recap: Cornerstone Charter's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bethany Community, Cornerstone Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Leadership Academy Falcons. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 19, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Aubree Reaves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Olivia Croatt, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Lilly Holt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cornerstone Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cornerstone Charter moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Charter will head out on the road to take on Bethany Community at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
