On Wednesday Noah Villa tossed 0.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The performance also marked the fewest walks (zero) Villa has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his seventh in a row with less than two walks. For the season, he has an ERA of 2.71 over 10.3 innings pitched.

Even though Villa couldn't lead Rancho Bernardo over La Costa Canyon, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 137 places lower in California), but they're not letting that get them down.
