Basketball Recap: Jalen Mcgraw's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bamberg-Ehrhardt over Denmark-Olar

If Bamberg-Ehrhardt was riding high fresh off their 54-30 takedown of Ridgeland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders took a 57-43 bruising from the Denmark-Olar Vikings on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Vikings are ranked 109th).

Bamberg-Ehrhardt lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jalen Mcgraw, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Jabari Graham was another key player, putting up seven points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Bamberg-Ehrhardt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Denmark-Olar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tykeem Ross led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Terrence Hinton, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with seven boards and five steals.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt moved to 6-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Denmark-Olar, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
