Football Game Preview: Northridge Knights vs. Pleasant Grove Vikings + Official Tickets

The Northridge Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Pleasant Grove Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Northridge beat Clearfield 24-20. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Grant Slater was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 158 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing yards (13).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasant Grove). They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over Payson. The Vikings pushed the score to 41-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had no chance of recovering from.

Northridge better focus on containing Connor Ybarra and Tavake Wolfgramm as the pair were huge in Pleasant Grove's win. Ybarra rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns, while Wolfgramm gained 132 total yards and a touchdown.

Pleasant Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Payson only rushed for 58.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Pleasant Grove, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dexton Nuttall, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Northridge's record now sits at 4-5. As for Pleasant Grove, their record is now 4-6.
