Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Crest Chargers

Two dominant guards in Anderson Lee and Cal Pass Jr. are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Crest Chargers on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Crest likes a good challenge.

Northwest Cabarrus is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-54 win over Freedom.

Meanwhile, Crest beat North Buncombe 73-62 on Tuesday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Black Hawks are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. Northwest Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
