Nixon has gone 9-1 against Martin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Nixon Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Martin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, Nixon came up short against Palmview and fell 49-37. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Lobos are ranked 297th).

Meanwhile, Martin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 38-32 to Mission.

Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Nixon, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Nixon didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Martin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nixon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
