Basketball Recap: Crater's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Eugene typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Crater proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Highlanders. The game was the first time the Comets have beaten the Highlanders on their court since December 14, 2021.

North Eugene lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordan Gray, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Fisher, who posted 12 points and five boards.

The victory was the third in a row for Crater, bringing their record up to 16-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for North Eugene, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4.
