Basketball Recap: Pryce Rabroker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosebud-Lott over Wortham

If Rosebud-Lott was riding high fresh off their 69-33 takedown of Austin Achieve last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rosebud-Lott Cougars took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wortham Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Pryce Rabroker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Rabroker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braxton Mast, who went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points along with six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rosebud-Lott smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Rosebud-Lott has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Wortham, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Rosebud-Lott Cougars duke it out with the Hubbard Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosebud-Lott is facing Hubbard at the right time seeing as Hubbard is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Wortham, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-62 defeat against Rice on the 12th.
