Volleyball Recap: Verrado Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Verrado waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Desert Edge Scorpions. The Vipers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Scorpions, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 27-25, 20-25, 25-12.

Alexander Marrero paced Verrado's offense, picking up 13 kills. Marrero got some help from Zachary Doerksen and his 36 assists. Doerksen was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Verrado's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Desert Edge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Verrado didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Independence on the 26th. As for Desert Edge, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Glendale on the 26th.
