Basketball Recap: The Woodlands Drops Highest Score of Season Against College Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Woodlands). They secured an 85-79 W over the College Park Cavaliers on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Highlanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 158th).

Despite the loss, College Park still got an impressive performance from Aiden Buckmon, who made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc to post 42 points. The matchup was Buckmon's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ian Inman was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

The win got The Woodlands back to even at 8-8. As for College Park, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

The Woodlands and Clear Brook will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for College Park, they will square off against Permian at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in College Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
