Softball Recap: Battle Ground Academy Comes Up Short

If Battle Ground Academy was riding high fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Harpeth on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 9-1 to the Franklin Road Academy Panthers on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-2.

Battle Ground Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellery Baisden, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Battle Ground Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-10. As for Franklin Road Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Ground Academy will square off against Columbia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin Road Academy, they will challenge Grace Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
