Basketball Game Preview: North Miami Beach Chargers vs. Pine Crest Panthers

The North Miami Beach Chargers will challenge the Pine Crest Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Miami Beach took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mourning 53-51. The win was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jeremy Gerffarad was a one-man wrecking crew for North Miami Beach as he went 8 of 10 en route to 17 points and eight boards. Those 17 points gave Gerffarad a new career-high. Jephte Noel was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine Crest). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 98-69 victory over Highlands Christian. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Pine Crest, bringing their record for this year to 19-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.3 points. As for North Miami Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.

North Miami Beach came up short against Pine Crest in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 58-54. Can North Miami Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
