Basketball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McHenry Warriors on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-52 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jacobs still got an impressive performance from Nolan Roper, who went 6 for 13 en route to 19 points. That's the most points Roper has posted since back in January of 2024. Ben Jurzak was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for McHenry, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Jacobs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Palatine at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jacobs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for McHenry, they will challenge Crystal Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Lake Central has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight defeats, while McHenry will come in with seven straight wins.
