Softball Game Preview: BCLUW Comets vs. Collins-Maxwell

BCLUW is 0-5 against Collins-Maxwell since June of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Comets will square off against Collins-Maxwell at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (BCLUW has four wins , while Collins-Maxwell has three).

BCLUW is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Baxter get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Comets with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Collins-Maxwell got the win against North Tama on Friday by a conclusive 14-4. Fans of Collins-Maxwell have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

BCLUW's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Collins-Maxwell, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

BCLUW couldn't quite finish off Collins-Maxwell when the teams last played back in June of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
