Softball Recap: West Catholic's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

West Catholic had lost four games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 3-4 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Greenville Yellow Jackets as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

As for Greenville, they moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For Greenville's part, Emily Rice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. Rice has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Greenville will square off against Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Yellow Jackets' match: after the Yellow Jackets face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on West Catholic again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
