Basketball Recap: Cape Cod Academy Comes Up Short

Cape Cod Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Millis Mohawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (57), the Seahawks still had to take the loss.

Cape Cod Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mike Berry, who went 11-for-19 en route to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Berry is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Cody Tolley was another key player, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Cape Cod Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Millis, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Cod Academy will face off against Rising Tide at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millis, they will challenge Northbridge at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mohawks will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
