Basketball Game Preview: Des Moines Christian Lions vs. Van Meter Bulldogs

Des Moines Christian and Van Meter are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Des Moines Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

Last Friday, everything went Des Moines Christian's way against Pleasantville as Des Moines Christian made off with a 59-36 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Trojans are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Van Meter had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 52-51 win over Earlham.

Des Moines Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Van Meter, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.

Des Moines Christian strolled past Van Meter when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-46. Will Des Moines Christian repeat their success, or does Van Meter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
