Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garner). They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 74-22 win over the Northwest Halifax Vikings. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 30 points or more this season.

Garner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sumayah Jones out in front who went 12 for 18 on her way to 29 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Aniyah Williams was another key player, going 9 of 14 on her way to 20 points along with eight assists and seven boards.

Garner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Northwest Halifax lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Keyara Rook, who posted 13 points. That was a full 59.1% of Northwest Halifax's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatyanna Mcgee, who put up seven points.

With the win, Garner broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6. As for Northwest Halifax, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Garner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-46 victory against Fuquay - Varina on the 7th. As for Northwest Halifax, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-50 defeat against North Edgecombe on the 7th.
