Softball Recap: Cowan Gets the Win

While Cowan's win against Marion wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blackhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Giants 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackhawks.

Savannah Bowling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Cowan's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryleigh Hiatt, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Hiatt has hit this season.

Cowan's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Marion, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cowan will square off against Wapahani at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marion, they will face off against Northfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
