Football Game Preview: Hall Titans vs. Simsbury Trojans

The Hall Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Simsbury Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Hall came up short against New Britain and fell 44-36. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Hurricanes 14-7 in the first quarter.

Hall's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Scher, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and Tommy Hussey, who threw for 396 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Scher really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 85 yards. Spencer Zazzaro was in the mix as well, providing Hall with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Simsbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Enfield, falling 39-18.

Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Simsbury, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Hall's way against Simsbury in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as Hall made off with a 42-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
