Basketball Recap: Hillgrove Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Asa Montgomery and Bryson Jatta

Hillgrove was the 67-54 winner over Pebblebrook when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hillgrove Hawks received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 72-54 to the Pebblebrook Falcons.

Bryson Jatta and Asa Montgomery certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jatta went 8 of 20 en route to 23 points and seven boards, while Montgomery posted ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Jatta's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Greg Dean, who had six points.

Even though they lost, Hillgrove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Hillgrove's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Pebblebrook, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Hillgrove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 88-58 victory against Osborne on the 17th. Pebblebrook has also already played their next game, a 63-52 defeat against McEachern on the 17th.
