Mackenzie Clydesdale leads a balanced attack to beat Smith Center

Recap: Norton Bluejays vs. Smith Center Redmen

The Norton Bluejays won against the Smith Center Redmen last Tuesday with 36 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Norton strolled past Smith Center with points to spare, taking the game 36-20. The win made it back-to-back wins for Norton.

Norton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Clydesdale, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Brooks, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Norton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Smith Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norton will take on Trego at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Norton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Smith Center, they will head out on the road to take on Russell on Thursday. Russell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Smith Center is ranked 49th).
