Volleyball Game Preview: Eleva-Strum Cardinals vs. Osseo-Fairchild Thunder

The Eleva-Strum Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Eleva-Strum is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Blair-Taylor just ended the team's nine-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Eleva-Strum sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 17-25, 25-19, 25-27, 15-13.

Osseo-Fairchild had taken Augusta down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Thunder fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 3-2.

Osseo-Fairchild actually scored more points across those five sets (99-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Osseo-Fairchild's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Eleva-Strum, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3.

Eleva-Strum beat Osseo-Fairchild 2-0 when the teams last played last Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
