Softball Recap: Waldport Comes Up Short at Home Against Oakridge

Waldport unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakridge Warriors on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Katlyn Morton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Pickner, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Waldport will be playing in front of their home fans against Coquille at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakridge, they will take on Central Linn at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
