Volleyball Recap: Buchanan's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of five wins, Buchanan's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trailblazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.

Keira Nelson paced Buchanan's offense, picking up eight kills. Nelson got some help from Avery Dedekian and her ten assists.

Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 25-5. As for Sierra Canyon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Buchanan and Sierra Canyon will both be playing Ironwood Ridge the next time they take the court. The Trailblazers will head out to face the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
